of late..

since i think it's high time for an update, and for those of you who still bother to drop by..

off the top of my head:

1. the Isner-Mahut match (read: Isner finally triumphs in longest-ever match) was absolutely Epic. not that i watched it (how to when you're in camp!), but the scoreline clearly says it all. and it's quite tragic that someone had to lose in the end. after all, it is a match. nonetheless, total respect to the duo for lasting so long on court for that marathon of a match (though well, yeah, they did have a break la) good game indeed.

2. the Think Family commercial on filial piety that's gotten mixed responses, to me is just simply touching. granted, the poor wife deserves much sympathy for having to deal with a Monster-in-Law, but that is the harsh reality some families face. and to say that the grandmother doesn't deserve the care and attention due to her overbearing and difficult self is just plain mean and borders on being ungrateful imo. then, there's also the accusation that she is the ingrate, which fair enough, can accepted. okay la, i agree that there's can be some grey areas on the filial piety that shown but the heart of the commercial is really straightforward. i guess we should all just take it as it is and not read too much into the details "How one generation loves, the next generation learns" - a rather simple and direct concept, no?

3. Diana Ross and Kelly Rowland were in town?!! am i missing on a lot or whaaat! but seriously, that's some major appearance which isn't surprising considering the Marina Bay IR is the second most expensive one in the world (if i remember correctly). okay moving on..

4. browsing through sales advertisements in the newspaper is just too depressing! many shops have finally started their sales this week, and there's the Robinsons Mega Expo Sale that's quite awesome. but we all know too well that there's hardly time to really go shopping while serving the nation full-time. especially when we're still a trainee with a white rank so i shall just wait patiently for the 2011 GSS la. oh well!

5. in relation to #1 - Wimbledon is underway! =D but yes, i am missing out on all the action at what is easily the most anticipated Grand Slam in the tennis calendar, damn! regardless, i'm supporting Henin, Clijsters, Federer and Roddick as usual. (: and i sure hope that this Grand Slam plays out well eventually!

6. oh yes, i almost forgot - i turned NINETEEN exactly a week ago! (: thanks for all the lovely wishes y'all, which really made me smile. and thanks for the simple celebration my dearest family. (: my birthday wish? well, as any Miss World would say, i wish for World Peace! (Y) uhhuh.

alright, i think that's enough updates to last quite some time, haha. okay, right now i shall be efficient and make use of this free time to pack for tomorrow night's move to SAFTI MI. which is one major dreadful thought! well, i'm just hoping for the best la. an open mind, lots of optimism and good company shall keep me alive!

till another time (soon, i hope!), take care peeps and have a good weekend! =D no TGIF for us, sadly.
