whoa, that has got to be one of the best CSI episodes that i've watched. really, that girl's one hell of a genius. kinda like Michael Scofield. but mymymy, the revelation at the end was just so jaw-dropping. omg.
anyway, in other news, HMT Prelims went okay lah. but i can already guess comments for my Paper 1 -
. and Cikgu did say something to that extent too, when commenting on my Paper 1 right before Paper 2 started.

even if they try
Desperate Housewives Season 4 Promo
and so, Edie Britt survives her suicide attempt, or so it seems. and haha. Susan Myers looks O.O in the promo. amusing much. anyhow, am certainly looking forward to the return of DH. (:
oh, and as stated in the promo itself, it features
Jennifer Lopez's
Mile In These Shoes from her upcoming album
Brave hitting stores in October 9. interesting track, i must admit.
ANYWAY. have a good week peeps. four more days to the end of the term. (:
-
good times
i feel good! nahnahnahnahnahnahnah...
haha. okay, am feeling rejuvenated and refreshed after a good night's sleep. y'know, the feeling when you've gotten enough rest and yeah, i guess you get my drift. oh, and yesterday was a good day spent at aunt's with the maternal relatives. (:
anyway, to all 3rd lang peeps, all the best for your oral later in the afternoon!
and to me, let's get down to memorising
peribahasas and reading last Monday's BH.
in the spirit of HMT prelims tmr,
selamat majujaya!
it's a good day, not the best of days, but still, it's good.
it's a good rainy day. (:

happy life
sadikin feels accomplished. because he has managed to fold around 60 stars, and completed compiling the feedback/comments.
YAY!
but well, there's still HMT Prelims on Tuesday and Physics CCT on Thursday (which will require A LOT of work).
happy life!

positivity
okay, let's have a recap:
i love SS! really. (this was supposed to be posted on wednesday. haha.) i think diplomacy is a very interesting profession to go into. well, aside from medicine or biomed research. and of course, theatre (rmbr Haresh Sharma?). xP
the Secondary 3 Literature Parody performances were quite good, i must say. much stiffer competition with really good scripts and all. though the opening one was rather distasteful, in my opinion. what's with insulting the Bard? and really bad acting. -.-"
received back my
12/30 Maths CCT 3 results. yet again, i've been numbed. i simply amaze myself at how such failures can actually bring a smile to my face, when on normal days, i don't bother to appear oh-so happy. perhaps it's kind of like expressing that failure can't bring me down, but at the same time, it's quite ridiculous and absurd, don't you think so? smiling in the eyes of failure. o.O this is
bad.
well, English Oral Defense went fine. my best delivery thus far, if i were to compare. and definitely greatly attributed to the preparation. hahahah. my last oral performance task is my most (and perhaps only) fully prepared one. but it's all fine.
and PE rocked! coz classmates really enjoyed our game. and Mr Low also commented that it is good. so yay to us! of course, major credit goes to Bryan Chia, the genius behind the main idea. hahahah. and if you're reading this Bryan, you've got a career in teaching. PE, specifically. haha!
was great to go back to Eunos Primary and give a motivational dialogue of sorts to the Primary 6 Malay students from the best two classes, along with four other Secondary 1 students from VS and TKSS. apparently, the PSLE results have been on the decline and the top student last year had only an aggregate of 258. plus, the attitude of the students are indeed a cause of worry to the teachers. well, hopefully the sharing was of use to them. oh, and i spoke mostly in Malay. Cikgu would've been so proud. hahahah. essentially, i hope they are really inspired to do their best and get into their dream schools. (:
today was a-okay. highlight of the day didn't happen though.
MCC Interviews after solat, and ended around 5pm. after which, went Vivo with Nabil and just walked around and ate at Banquet, shelving initial plans to watch Hairspray. well, we were just too tired lah.
alright, that's all.
on to more consolidation of feedback. -.-"
and folding stars. much fun and joy.
hahahah. till another time! (:

finally
today was a good day.
biology assignment was manageable, and lit presentation went fine. well, Mrs Albar did comment that we did a good job on the two poems, so i guess we did.
anyway, yesterday saw the official handover of leadership in the HML Club. and yeah, passed on my Deputy Chief-Librarian
ship to Kang Jie. (: so from now on, i'm effectively no longer in the Club. and the video brought back so many fond memories. it really felt as though the first AGM that i attended was not so far back. and now, three years on, it's my last.
yet another chapter closed...

happy me
careers forum was alright. journalism was funky, playwrighting with Haresh Sharma (!) was enlightening but um, depressing. haha. and biomedical research was um, kinda dull, but kinda interesting. xP
friday night out was fun! (: enter
sesat man person,
fabulous people (not
our kind of fabulous), and there you have it! a funky experience. hahahah. and of course, the BK dinner tell-all session. =D oh, and WELL DONE NASH - NABIL AND SENG HENK (aka Wilhelmina and Marc)! proud of you! (:
harmoc session, teachers' day and 02 campfire filled my saturday.
yeah, that's about it.
on to Oral Defense, and
if i have the time, Anderson Prelims Paper 2.
and um, go PM Lee! oh, and i saw Chengjie and Claire on tv. haha
- Thursday, August 16, 2007
and so it is
week 8's drawing to a close.
enough said. (:

have a little patience
RE presentation went along pretty fine. (: well, how i wish the same can be said for the maths cct. and i guess you should already be able to guess that i screwed it up. with 9 marks out of 30 gone due to 2 unattempted questions, it's really not salvageable. okay, failed attempts for 2 questions, rather.
oh, and scouts today was fun too! (: and yeah, was feeling a little nostalgic, as i cam to realise that there's only a number of activities left. and as i was facilitating one of the Sec 1 patrols, i really felt undecided on whether i should come back for GC 2008. ohwell.
anyway, on to chem.
and we shall survive.

cancerous
and many said of the biology paper as straightforward, fine, manageable. as for me, it was yet another reaffirmation that my clear lack of drive to really study isn't doing me any good. perhaps i haven't been trying hard enough. okay, i know i haven't been trying hard enough. but then again, i realise that it's mainly the academics that i've been neglecting. if only i could channel my drive for other stuff to my studies, that'd be the day, really.
blah. dean, let's make good of our appointment with the school psychologist soon. we know we really need it.
anyway, RI-HCI challenge shield was a-okay. wasn't really exciting, in my opinion. i'd say it was a decent match lah. and RI won on penalties. (:
okay, RE presentation's a-calling! (and i thought i could rest tonight. booo)

life, as it is
you know it's been and gonna continue to be a bad time when you realise you haven't started studying for tmr's test much. and when your friend tells you he's actually hoping for SARS to hit us again. well, though that's
really bad, i guess it just goes to show the severity (haha) of the situation.
yeah, i know everyone's saying the same thing, but i just can't not talk about it too lah.
KILLER WEEK 8, GO AWAY. FAST.
okay. well, at least, there's stuff to look forward too. mainly buckley df tea on thurs and nabil's fashion showcase at the district art thing on friday. yep, nabil's gonna get his first break in the local scene. you go, nabil! (: proud of you, really.
okay. time to hit the notes for biology, finally. (:

mary had a little lamb
yo, wassup? (the ceiling, in my case)
ANYWAY, friday the 10th was complete your outstading schwork day. well, most of it anyway. completed most of maths pt, as well as bpghs paper 2 for higher malay. felt highly accomplished! (:
and today was spent in school from 9am to 10am for harmoc practice, which was quite fun, i must say. where we perfected blowing
mary had a little lamb (gee, that sounds really wrong). hahahah. next tune to master:
this old man. which is the same as the barney's
i love you, you love me.
had macs breakfast, walked around J8 with yanzhi, met geeva at popular and had a brief conversation mainly about biology cct (haha. well, he was buying biology assessment books to study.).
at a quarter to noon, met bro, then we walked around J8 and PS. there were loads of stuff on offer! hahahah. well, bro got a pair of g2000 blu straight cut jeans at 25bucks. which is really a steal, in my opinion.
left bro in the company of his friends (they were gonna watch rush hour 3!), and made my way back to school for teachers' day orgcomm meeting. which went well, thankfully, and since the planning's pretty much settled, let's hope for minimal disruptions in the execution stage. (:
and that's basically today, saturday the 11th.
time to hit the books (notes, rather) for biology.
soon. (haha)

national day
happy (belated) 42nd birthday Singapore!
okay, so it was national day celebrated (of sorts) in the eastern part of singapore - changi and tampines.
spent the afternoon away at NSRCCS (National Service Resort and Country Club) courtesy of Lionel and his parents. yes, it's the same place where we had our prefects' chalet in june.
started off playing monopoly until Alaric went bankrupt. okay, not really. he just didn't have enough cash on hand to pay the rent after landing on Lionel's property (on second thought, who else could own anything more luxurious than him xP). after which, we went cycling, or roller blading in Bryan's case. oh, and cycling lessons in Louis' case. anyhow, it was quite dumb lah, as there were only 2 adult bikes left for rental from the resort, and the rental shop by the Changi beach is supposedly an hour away. so we made do with what we had. thus, resulting in me and Louis having to jog at times. poor us. -.-" hahahah
had our BBQ dinner while watching the NDP, and just before i left at 7pm to meet my parents for dinner, they started on Risk. hahahah. well, i hope they're having fun there. as for me, i decided to be a good boy and
attempt to complete my work. xP
night out with the family was simply shopping for household stuff at Century Square/Tampines Mall. yeah, nothing much lah.
okay, 'twas a good day! (:
and pardon the blurness of this photo, but it was the best of the three taken.
the awesome bunch at the chalet! (:

succession
well, the days are passing by quickly now. today already marks the end of academic week 7, and right on monday, there's biology CCT, followed by maths and physics. and it's not as if we do not already have much stuff to study/mug for, maths performance task and english portfolio oral defence are due on monday as well. yay. which effectively means a non-existent extended weekend to rest. since we are expected to clear all these stuff then. alas, well done on the strategic planning, my beloved school. -.-" (hoho, that just sounds so cynical. but i'm clearly not a cynic, alright. o.O)
anyway, had a good talk with Cikgu Nani on monday, and that managed to clear much stuff. once in a while, it's really great to have a conversation with a teacher who works closely with you, to review your performance, and also the people around you, and of course, to discuss about CCA matters and anything under the sun as well. in that way, you really get to know how exactly she thinks and feels, and that prevents further misunderstandings and unnecessary supposed conflicts. which always happens to us poor souls who are just so exhausted with everything and thus thinks that teachers are always against us. which may be true to an extent. but well, you'll never know.
um, well, nothing much interesting has transpired in the week. perhaps the most eventful one would be EXCO meeting just now. hahahah. with the whole auction house/ stock market atmosphere. but hey, it proved effective in keeping us focused. and this kinda reminds me of the flappers in the land of Laputa aka the Whore in Gulliver's. hahahah.
OH. and that reminds me of the highly interesting chem lesson on monday about organic chem. according to our chem teacher, Mr Koh Siak Peng, the substitution reaction is a
divorce in the atoms of a compound, with the substituent atom, also known as a
slut, breaking up the original compound. yes. the whole class was like o.O.
hahahah. oh, and my Boss, Law Jia Hao, got me a hand made fimo bead with adjustable cord from the US. thank you! (:
alright, nights.
and um, don't forget to tune in to the Prime Minister's rally later tonight, kay.
and i still have an English lesson and an AQ test after the National Day celebrations. yay.
(and those two lines rhyme! xP)

passion
so, the kayaking expedition yesterday went well. though we didn't manage to complete the planned route, as Nicholas was feeling unwell, it was still fine nonetheless. in fact, it was only around 3+km (out of the planned 6+km), which is about half of the expedition during our 2-Star course. -.-" haha. well, at least we had fun and enjoyed the whole expedition, building sandcastles on the beaches (esp Guang Yu), and exploring the beaches with all the interesting creatures. oh, and the run-in of sorts with the coastguards. xP
t'was an enjoyable and enriching experience, with Miss Teo leading and guiding us.
Raffles Raya meeting at 32 College Green (the chairperson's house) was in short, interesting. as ihad told Haris, it was really heartening, and at the same time, kinda surprising to see middle-aged women, coming together to plan for a high tea event to bring the old and the new generations together. to see the Rafflesian passion still very much in them was truly inspiring. though i must say, they look just like any one on the streets; i'd never have thought that they were Rafflesian ladies who have bigger agendas on their minds other than their own jobs, house-keeping work, family, and shopping. haha. not being a male chauvinist or anything, but yeah. oh, and their web of contacts is just so large. they can easily contact this person who's directly linked to this important person and so on. whoa. but i guess it comes with age and socialising.
hmmm. and i wonder if i'll ever be in their position 30 years down the road...

august(ana)
gone is week 6. and the month of july. how time passes.
anyway, today's gonna be a packed day. with kayaking from 9am to 3pm, then a meeting at Dunearn Road from 5pm. -.-" and i thought i could finally have a free saturday. well, guess not.
nights!
