life

thanks for all the support ppl. (: but really, seriously, i am fine. it's just that i was feeling super low then. pretty much saddened by the death of Allahyarham Hani Mohsin, especially after reading an article on him.

about how he died while on the way to a holiday with his daughter. his sorrows. and especially the loneliness he faced for the past two years, without a loved one by his side, so much so that he even visited his mother's grave when the loneliness was far too unbearable. his last days/months/years was in my opinion, too cruel for such a great man - a devout Muslim, and a dedicated and talented actor. but at least he should be in a better place right now, Isya'allah (God willing).

yeah. it deeply saddens me to know such a great person is gone, and to find out the cruel last years of his life. and he passed on just as he was looking forward to spending time with his only child. to me, it seems unfair, but i know God has His reasons.

life is fragile. indeed.

life

i've never felt how truly fragile life is as much as i have these past week. perhaps i'm just feeling low right now, after reading the article on Allahyarham Hani Mohsin in Berita Minggu, and how great a man he was, how devout a Muslim he was, how committed an actor he was, and how lonely his last days were, especially after his relationship with Chef Wan's daughter (that faced much disapproval from Chef Wan himself) ended, and the death of him beloved mum two years ago. he was only 41, and had a seemingly stable, if not, bright future in the entertainment industry. he was born on 18 June.

indeed, a number people i know of, though i may not really know them in person, have passed on this past week or so, and so suddenly. especially, my grandma, Allahyarhamha Lamah binti Yosoff, veteran comedian Allahyarham Ishak Ahmat, and as already mentioned, talented Malayisan actor Allahyarham Hani Mohsin. their deaths weren't really expected - my grandma was supposed to get better after the hospital stay, Allahyarham Ishak Ahmat was filming in Jakarta, and Allahyarham Hani Mohsin was about to go on a holiday with his daughter (from his first and only marriage to Tiara Jacquelina, that ended in 1998).

and still, i resign to Fate. life and death is in the hands of God. and i believe they have left this world for a better one, at His side. but they'll be dearly missed. especially my grandma, who, when she stayed at my house, used to be my companion at home when no one else was around. she was always there when i was all alone at home, and when it was all quiet, like when my mum's sleeping in her room. and i believe Allahyarham Ishak Ahmat and Allahyarham Hani Mohsin will be missed by their own family, friends, and acquaintances just as my grandma is.

May God bless their souls. Amin.

finally

Siti Nurhaliza to marry Datuk K on Aug 21

KUALA LUMPUR: Pop star Siti Nurhaliza will wed businessman Datuk Khalid Mohamed Jiwa on Aug 21.

The engagement and akad nikah ceremony will be held at Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan, while wedding receptions are scheduled for Aug 28 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) and Sep 3 in Kuala Lipis, Pahang.

Siti's parents' 38th wedding anniversary also falls on Aug 21, Siti revealed at the press conference to announce the wedding.

LOVING COUPLE: Datuk Khalid Jiwa and Siti Nurhaliza announced their big day much to everyone's surprise. The wedding date is set on Aug 21 while the bersanding is on Aug 28 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
The couple have commissioned Datuk Raja Shah Rezza from Nusantara Gems as wedding planner, with the reception at the KLCC to feature a "garden wedding" concept.

Fashion designers Radzuan Radziwill, Michael Ong, Khoon Hooi, Natrah Hisham and Anana Avanti have been engaged to design the wedding costumes, which will feature traditional songket and tekat.

Makeup artistes Nurul Shukur and Mia have also been engaged for the events.

alas, no more 'biarlah rahsia' (let it be a secret/let's keep it a secret) from her. (:

and here's the news bulletin on TV3:

yay. finally the trailer for The Lake House is showing on channel5. whee. (:
27july. mark that date out ppl.

anyway,
hey there. this world cup final was so dumb i dunno where to start. ok. so i do. ZIDANE. this french player made me change sides halfway thru the game. his moronic action of headbutting the italian player materazzi was so unbelievably stupid! does he realise that he cost france the world cup? lets say he did stay in the game. he'd have prolly done some good by scoring a goal or 2 in the penalty shootout. boo you zidane. still, if it offers some form of comfort, u played really well otherwise.

next up, we have barthez ie french goalkeeper. i think he might have lost some alot of hope towards the end that he died while goalkeeping. moreover, i dun think he was much of a match against italy's buffon (the nice guy that consoled zizou (zidane) aft the match) who managed to block at least 1 goal during penalty.

the reason italy won was coz well, they had a good team. henry didn't exactly get sent out on their side, did he? also, they din play too rough. les bleus, from wat i saw, were rather rowdy and all. hmm. so much for french elegance. weird though, i actually predicted the score to be 1 all wen the game is supposed to end (@ 90min.). hmmm.. maybe im psychic. hahax. well, thats all i gotta say abt teh final of fifa world cup '06.

can you believe that this match review of sorts is by mathan. like seriously. hahahah. =P surprisesurprise. go check it yourself here.

ouhkay. enough entries for the day. and night. HAHAHAH!
okay
. lame. time to complete some homework finally.

dmp registration: complete (finally)

whoa. finally, after a few hours of pure brain draining efforts to ensure that my courses don't clash, i manage to clock a decent 51hrs. and feeling oh-so accomplished, submitted my registration.

god. dean and i spent like an hour or so, fixing our schedules to fit around my malay journalism and biology courses, so that we'll be in the same courses for most. however, much to our dismay, some of the courses were already full, and thus, we had to do more re-scheduling. like how fun is that. o.O

and so, unfortunately, we couldn't take up any of the available biology courses. gahhh. how disappointed i am feeling right now. and this is a kind, gentle reminder to all bio students who took up the places in BI2A1 , and BI3B1, not to skip any lessons, or else, dean and i will so be coming after you. (:

anyhows. here's my timetable, if you wanna see it.

of the emmys, and wimbledon

noons. hahahah. how weird tt sounds.

anyway, as the world was captivated by the green fields of germany, watching the world cup, many don't really bother about the wimbledon (official name - the Championships, Wimbledon), one of the four grand slams in tennis. though i would love to be proven wrong. xP
okay. cut to chase - federer beat nadal (yay!) in the men's singles. and sadly, however, justin henin-hardenne lost to manly amelie mauresmo in the women's singles. sorry, but seriously, mauresmo is too well-built for a woman. oh. and the official titles are 'gentlemen's singles' and 'women's singles' respectively. true to the fine ways of the britons.

anyhows. apart from that, emmy nominations were announced a few days ago. and i guess the articles below sum up my thoughts on it. go read e! online (and of course, the nominations), and then wonder where your favourites have gone. well,if your favourite happens to be the same as mine, that is. and if they are not in the nominations as well. o.O

anyway, as you should be able to tell, i'm at home. and supposedly enjoying my youth day holiday. let's just hope i will not be too lazy to go out and catch a movie later. if not, it'll just be another wasted day.

okay. till another time.

what's there to blog about?

hello. you know, nth's interesting been happening lately, so there's really nth much to blog about. so if i don't blog at all, you should know tt it's because my life has been boring. yes, really sad. xP

okay. anyway, went for bulan bahasa's fasih menterjemah - saringan round, at toa payoh central cc. was relatively okay larh, though i seriously felt disappointed about my nervousness, that caused a mental block of sorts. hence my 2 out of 10 correctly translated words from eng to malay. well, let's just pray hard i manage to scrape through. (:

let's see. there's also milk run volunteering tmr. and btw, the t-shirt given is like three-quarters full of the sponsors's logo, leaving only like a quarter space at the top for the logo of the event itself. hahahah.

and there's no sch holiday on monday. instead, it's moved to week3 monday, in view of the world cup finals on 10july. however, this supposedly 'yay' move has caused some unhappiness among the sch population though. =/ ummm.

oh. and this is not really related to whatever that's already mentioned but anyhow. o.O
i just realised how young Aly and A.J. are. one's my age, and the other, two years older. which is like me and my sister. hahahah. imagine - Nurul & Sadik. xP hoho

okay. that is all.

nights.
