hey. i don't really have much to blog about, but i just figured i need a break from my last min hw rush. xP so, what else but to post lyrics. (:
whoa. this song is really growing on me man. emo song much.
by the way, yep, this was the song featured in one of the LOST commercials some time back.
and like one person commented on letssingit.com, it's incredible how he manages to repeat the line
5 times without sounding corny. (:
, from his latest album.
alrighty. i guess i'm done with my break.
time to get back to work... blah

singapura lagi boleh!
alright. so congratulations to the Lions for making it through to the finals of the Asean Cup. let's hope they can retain their title. (:
anyway, sorry for the lack of updates. life's been rather busy. though getting very much routine right now. ohwell. that being said though, lessons have been fun and entertaining, so at least that breaks the mundane cycle of school life.
well, it's not at all common for chem teachers to request that we do the greetings in malay/thai xP, or that we spot the Queen making an error (the fullstop and closedinvertedcomma incident), or that we find out Literature makes the soul oh-so enlightened (or so claim mrs alba
r and mrs d'cruz). (:
yep. so life's not all that bad.
alright, off to finally start on my hw! xP
with a veryveryvery uncomfortable dry sore throat + runny nose. wheee....

terlalu istimewa
wah seh. i guess
Terlalu Istimewa's really terlalu istimewa, clinching Lagu Balada Terbaik, and eventually, the Juara Lagu ke-21. (: congrats to Adibah Noor - singer/lyricist (who also won Best Vocal over Misha Omar xP yay) and Azlan Abu Hassan (Adnan Abu Hassan's bro o.O) - composer.
anyway, for the benefit of the clueless and lost, i'm talking about
Anugerah Juara Lagu ke-21. xP hahahah
here's the full list of winners (with my comments =D):
Persembahan Terbaik - Mungkir Bahagia (Hazami)wasn't too bad, yet wasn't too good. i guess the standard of performances this year dropped. yeah. well, fyi, this supposed best performance was just Hazami belting out the song with a group of masked ppl in background, reaching out their hands and whatnot. artistic much. xP
Vokal Terbaik - Adibah Nooryay! i'm glad she took the trophy home. hahahah. (: and not Misha. though i believe she could have done so much better. but it's understandable; it's her debut in AJL. still, the irony is that i thought Misha did a better job than her, vocally. anyway, i'm no expert, so ohwell. hmmm... but then, Ning and Liza were in the judging panel. o.O
Lagu Irama Malaysia/Etnik Kreatif - Warkah Buat Laila (Ayob Ibrahim/Habsah Hassan/Zahid)well, not surprising. since it has already won Song of the Year at AIM 2006. nice song, anyway. though i really like Adibah Noor & Senario's Zapin Cinta SMS. xP hahahah
Lagu Pop Rock Terbaik - Juwita Citra Terindah (M Nasir)alright. nice song. muchmuchmuch better than Lagu Cinta Lagu Jiwa. have i told you i dislike Mawi. so there. (:
Lagu Balada Terbaik - Terlalu Istimewa (Azlan Abu Hassan/Adibah Noor)highly deserving. (: such a beautiful song.
Juara Lagu ke-21 - Terlalu Istimewa (Azlan Abu Hassan/Adibah Noor)
well, what can i say. (:
alright. so AJL ke-21 has concluded. and as i had expected. (: overall, the show was rather entertaining, kudos to wacky hosts Cheryl Samad, Farah Fauzana and Ally Iskandar, and of course the performers themselves. however though, there was evidently a dip in the standard of performances, and i can't help but wonder how Caramu would've turned out.
_
anyway, went out with family dearest in the afternoon, and got myself a new backpack. which i think is rather sporty yet stylish. (: hahahah. yay.
and photos with siblings!
okay. out! (:

2 Muharram 1428H
hey. yeah, this slipped my mind yesterday. just goes to show how pious a Muslim i am. and that's not a good thing at all.
anyway, to all Muslims out there, have a
Blessed Islamic New Year 1428H. (:
or
Selamat Menyambut Tahun Baru Hijrah 1428.
my new year resolution - to be a better Muslim, insya'allah. and i guess everyone out there should be striving towards this as well.
out!

i'm alive! (:
hey there. following concerns that my blog is now "an endangered species", i've decided that it's best to dispel such untruths right now. by updating, what else.
anyway, let's just do a quick day-by-day recap since i last blogged:
2jan, tuesday
pbmir exco treat by Cikgu Salinah at sakura international, downtown east - the same place ex-president syafiq treated us as well. hahahah. yummy food, as usual, except for the japanese food which i am not a fan of at all, but my lower canines/incisors were still in pain, so couldn't eat much. blah. xP
and of course, hw rush! how surprising, i know.
3jan, wednesday
start of school! sec1 orientation day. am PSL of secondary 1K along with will, yiyang, yilong, chuanyaw, binglong and chenxuan. with bertrand attached to the class as well, though not an official class-based PSL.
fun day! (:
4jan - 6jan, thursday - saturday
NAGARRO; passion, pRIde, power.
sec1 orientation camp! definitely fun and exciting, yet stressful at times. overall, am glad with their attitude and performance; especially on the last day of camp. go, 1K! (:
them, seated in relatively straight rows
me and nabil
7jan, sunday
nothing much. hahahah. except for hw rush! commonwealth. xP
week 2
(i've given up on trying a day-by-day recap)
first week of academic lessons!
let's take a look at the teachers:
FT1/Eng/Lit: Mrs Noorizan Albar
FT2: Mr Aguss Hashim
CLE/PE: Mr Loh June Meng (Year Head)
Higher Malay: Cikgu Saripah Abas
Maths: Miss Beatrice Cho
Biology: Dr Jeffrey Lee
Chemistry: Mr Koh Siak Peng
Physics: Mdm Kek Ai Kew
SS: Mrs Neoh Terh Ling
yeah. overall, i guess they're good. (: and thankgod albar stayed with us as ft! yay.
and literature lessons are promising to be so much more fun, with lectures by different teachers every week, on top of tutorials with mrs albar. the eng/lit department is um, interesting! xP
anyway, this was also the most stressful week since school started. blah.
and
JRIC - Junior Rafflesian Investiture Ceremony! (10jan, wednesday)
the class
their nicely decorated torch! (:
ah. the day when the sec1s are officially invested as Rafflesians. and as a PSL, you can't help but feel so proud that they've made it there. (: shared sentiments of many PSLs.
random shot of who else but nabil xP
and the first
PSGM Session - Opening! (friday, 12jan)
though i missed much of it. hahahah.
week 3
a relatively more relaxed week. (: yeah. shan't go much into the details larh.
anyway, quotes of the week!
we were discussing about the mobile noticeboards covering the windows, and that miss cho said that it was not allowed for both windows to be covered, as mrs albar had told us to.
mrs albar: but who's your form teacher?
all: you!
end of discussion. xP
mr koh came into class, complaining how bad a day he's had. the previous 3 classes that he had been in that day were um, horrible, and so much different from the Rafflesians of the past.
mr koh: you guys are so horrible. disgusting! what is the world coming to?
(whoa. so philosophical! =D)
hahahah. funky teachers. oh. and just yesterday, mr koh said that we're his best class; our attitude towards lessons is different, and much better than his other classes. and i was like WHOA. did you hear that? hahahah. whoever said 4J was always complained about. xP
and he also hopes that we'll do well in the subject, expecting a 3.8GP average for the class. o.O talk about high expectations.
anyway, nabil and i went crazy after pi meeting on thurs. on the way to dinner with bryan and shawn, we played the shouting game. where we'd take turns to shout some word, and the one who shouts the loudest, wins. which, yours truly won hands down! thankyou.
and the words that were used? the p-word and my ass. yes, we were
that crazy. hahahah.
alright, out!
and since it's a relatively free weekend for me, aside from proposals and hw, i'm finally able to catch up on pb, dh and alias! yay. (:

1 january 2007
hey. am not in the best of spirit/mood (imagine having to nurse an aching lower gum, a blocked nose, and a very bad throat - now i know what's worse than a flu), so i guess i'll keep this very short.
2006 was yet another rollercoaster year, with the usual ups and downs. i guess as with everything, there are a lot of takeaways from 2006, which i will keep in mind, so that the mistakes/bad are not repeated. thanks to everyone - friends, classmates, schoolmates, acquaintances and family (: - who have made 2006 a memorable and meaningful year, even if it was for the wrong reasons. well, inevitably, mistakes do happen, but we learn and grow up from these mistakes. so there.
my new year resolution, you may ask.
i don't really make a list of specific resolutions, but essentially, what i hope for 2007 is to be a better person than i was yesterday. (yes, it's the same as last year's) a better person in all aspects of it. a better friend, a better brother/son, a better Muslim, a better student... and the list goes on. ultimately, a better me. (:
okay. i guess that's enough. will update more about yesterday's countdown at boonlay later. (which ended around 1+am, and hence, got me home around 3am. hahahah. yeah, so didn't really have the energy to chrun out this post)
and on that note, Happy New Year to all, and may 2007 be a great year for you. (though for me, it started on a very miserable note)
best wishes, y'all! (:
