once again, the Contemporary piece for the Top 16, choreographed by Mia Michaels no less and performed by everybody's favourite couple, Randi and Evan (!), is simply beautiful. (:
Randi & Evan - Top 16 Choreographer: Mia Michaels (Contemporary) Music: Koop feat Ane Brun - Koop Island Blues
and while we're at it, here's another lovely routine from the Top 16:
Kayla & Kupono - Top 16 Choreographer: Jean-Marc Généreux (Viennese Waltz) Music: Jewel - Sweet Dreams for You(lovely song too! xD)
oh, and Melissa & Ade did Rumba very well too, as did Janette & Brandon with their Hip-Hop routine.
and of course, not forgetting the really hot group performance:
Top 16 Group Dance Choreographers: Dmitry Chaplin, Napoleon & Tabitha D'umo (Hip-Hop/Salsa) Music: Pitbull - I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)
and with regard to the results, it's quite unfortunate that Jonathan got out after his amazing contemporary piece with Karla last week, and similarly so for Asuka. but oh well, this season's Top 20 dancers are overall strong, so it's inevitable i guess. and Jonathan was still too into his gymnastics as opposed to dancing. -.-"
and finally, blogging today without a mention about the the loss of two Hollywood icons is just unforgivable.
it's really tragic, considering how a wedding was in the works for Farrah and Ryan, and a comeback tour was already planned for the legendary Michael Jackson.
my heart goes out to their family and friends. =/
indeed, it was a tragic 25th of June for the entertainment industry.

funny (and adorable!) videos! (:
Rant on Asian Dramas
Why Chris Brown Beat Rihanna
i must commend the youtuber for his smart sense of humour and excellent video-making/editing skills. light-hearted entertainment, yes? ohwell, even if you don't, at least i think so. xD
oh, and do you remember this:
now, three years later and with an addition to the two adorable brothers somewhere in between, their parents have put up an equally adorable video of the three brothers, featuring the youngest one, who's been learning how to walk:
simply adorable right! =D okay, that should've already made your day, haha.
anyway, in other news - the prestigious WIMBLEDON has started! (((:
and so far, most of my faves are through to the Second Round, namely Federer, Dementieva, Verdasco and Roddick. at the moment, Kuznetsova and Safin (NOT Safina) have yet to play.
well, i'm expecting Federer to reclaim his Wimbledon throne and sixth Gentlemen's Singles title, while i still have faith in Venus to defend hers and also grab her sixth Ladies' Singles title.
as far as how the draw plays out, i hope to see a Federer-Verdasco quarters, then Federer(hopefully!)-Djokovic semis at the bottom half, whereas a Murray-Safin fourth round, Hewitt-Roddick quarters, and Safin/Murray-Hewitt/Roddick semis at the top half.
on the other side, i hope for a Sharapova-Serena quarters, Sharapova/Serena-Dementieva semis, Venus-Kuznetsova semis and eventually Dementieva/Sharapova/Serena-Venus finals.
okay, i'm done with the draw analysis. -.-" and right now, we'll just have to wait and see.
and finally, since family is love, here's a final photo last Sunday after Father's Day dinner:
family! (:
okay, i think i should turn in soon. yet another day of mugging awaits! =/ =D

already gone
caught two movies yesterday - I Love You, Man and Taking of Pelham 123 - with awesome company! (:
so thank you 2Five and batchmates (i.e. mats, including those who tak sempat join but i understand ttm) for the birthday celebrations! =D
really much appreaciated. and oh ya, thanks mats for the "brother" card ah, very apt indeed.
at fish&co. glasshouse! (:
and since i've been listening to a lot of mellow music, i thought i'd share one that really gets to me.
so here's a very sappy but absolutely wonderfully written ballad (by the amazing Ryan Tedder and Kelly herself), slated to be Kelly's fourth single from All I've Ever Wanted. coupled with meaningful lyrics and Kelly's great vocals, it's bound to be a hit! (:
Kelly Clarkson - Already Gone
Remember all the things we wanted Now all our memories, they're haunted We were always meant to say goodbye Even with our fists held high It never would've worked out right We were never meant for do or die
I didn't want us to burn out I didn't come here to hurt you Now I can't stop
I want you to know that it doesn't matter Where we take this road Someone's gotta go And I want you to know You couldn't have loved me better But I want you to move on So I'm already gone
Looking at you makes it harder But I know that you'll find another That doesn't always make you want to cry Started with a perfect kiss Then we could feel the poison set in Perfect couldn't keep this love alive You know that I love you so I love you enough to let you go -this line is omg ):
I want you to know that it doesn't matter Where we take this road Someone's gotta go And I want you to know You couldn't have loved me better But I want you to move on So I'm already gone
I'm already gone, already gone You can't make it feel right When you know that it's wrong I'm already gone, already gone There's no moving on So I'm already gone
Remember all the things we wanted Now all our memories, they're haunted We were always meant to say goodbye
I want you to know that it doesn't matter Where we take this road Someone's gotta go And I want you to know You couldn't have loved me better But I want you to move on So I'm already gone
I'm already gone, already gone You can't make it feel right When you know that it's wrong I'm already gone, already gone There's no moving on So I'm already gone

happy birthday to me! (:
yes, i've finally turned eighteen! xD
thanks to everyone who's wished me; your lovely messages really made the day feel so special! (: (: (:
and especially to angeline dear for spending the day with me! (: haha, despite having to struggle through watching Drag Me To Hell! which was kinda like a mega horror movie. seriously.
in other news, i totally heart contemporary dance routines! (: they are absolutely amazingly beautiful. go watch these two routines if you haven't! =D
Melissa & Ade - Top 20 Choreographer: Mandy Moore Music: Richard Marx - Right Here Waiting
Karla & Jonathan - Top 18 Choreographer: Stacey Tookey Music: The Frames - Falling Slowly (loves this song ttm! xD)
oh, they're from So You Think You Can Dance Season 5 by the way.
lovely music from Adele and Daniel Merriweather (love his name; ain't it a merry weather today! xD). and awesome music videos, arguably the best from both Lady GaGa and the Pussycat Dolls to date - what with that amazing and smart 8-minute short film, and that video which samples Britney's Everytime and Jess Simpson's A Public Affair coupled with a Diana Ross hair for Nicole.
enjoy! (:

king of roland garros & the greatest tennis player of all time roger federer
14 Grand Slam singles titles to date: 3 Australian Open, 1 French Open, 5 Wimbledon, 5 US Open
yes, so Federer won! (: and in a solid display of his tennis prowess, no less. with a one-sided affair finals, where save for the second set where Soderling attempted a comeback, Federer was in control throughout, it was clear that the man dubbed "greatest tennis player ever" had the match in the bag. the Swede, unfortunately, couldn't find the form which allowed him to beat Nadal, Davydenko and Gonzales en route to the finals, and was left struggling to play catch-up with Federer throughout the match. so well, certainly, Federer deserved the win. (:
and of course, the tennis great also managed to remain unfazed by that infamous moment, where he was accosted by a fan.
which probably brought to the minds of many, the Monica Seles tragedy of 1993. fortunately thought, no one was hurt. well, i guess we should expect tighter security at Grand Slam finals from now on. =/
and so, that concludes Roland Garros 2009! (: and i'm particularly happy cos both finals went down as i had wanted them to.
with that, on to the lawn of Wimbledon later this month! xD
YAY. (: Svetlana Kuznetsova stormed through the finals to clinch her second Grand Slam singles title at Roland Garros last night. although the match point was an anticlimatic service double fault by Dinara Safina, which we shall all overlook. -.-"
anyway, the finals was unfortunately a pretty much one-sided affair with Kuzzy in control of the match most of the time, discounting the shaky first game where she failed to hold serve. haha. but she found her rhythm right after that, and worked her shots superbly well. and we shall all hope it stays that way for her from now on. (: overall, it was a clear-cut win, though i was expecting a three-set thriller seeing how they've both fared really well in the clay courts tournaments prior to Roland Garros. alas, it was not meant to be. and seriously, Safina really needs to work on her mental toughness, cos at the way she's crumbling in the three Grand Slam finals that she's been at, there's no way she's ever gonna win an elusive major. anyway, well done Kuzzy! (:
and well, we all look forward to the Men's Singles finals today, where the former world No. 1, Roger Federer, seeks his first Roland Garros to equal Pete Sampras' record of 14 Grand Slam singles titles in the Open era.
the courts of Roland Garros are set for the Men's and Women's Singles Finals between
Roger Federer (2)
&
Robin Soderling (23)
and
Dinara Safina (1)
&
Svetlana Kuznetsova (7)
well, it's quite obvious who i'm rooting for in the Men's finals. after all, it is his fourth French Open finals appearance, and like someone commented online, although Soderling has been playing really well (kudos for that comeback after being 4-1 down in the final set against Gonzales) and will present a worthy challenge, a French Open title is owed to Federer. (:
as for the Women's finals, i believe it'll be a very tight affair, judging from their most recent head-to-head history with two clay court finals where each triumphed in one of the two. and with her ankle injury and apparent exhaustion, Kuznetsova isn't in the best shape, physically, unlike Safina, who hasn't faced much challenge apart from Azarenka throughout the tournament. indeed, "Saturday’s showdown will depend on which holds up better – Safina’s shaky nerves or Kuznetsova’s weakened ankle…". still, Kuznetsova for the win! (: you go girl!

roland garros the end is near!
so, alas, here are the semi-finals fixtures:
Men's Semi-Finals
Women's Semi-Finals
for the Men's side, with his currently on-form performance, especially after defeating Monfils in straight sets, Federer should easily be through to the finals. and i'm expecting Soderling to triumph over Gonzales as well, cos he's just been playing surprisingly well thus far, not excluding ousting the former King of Clay. (: and well, FEDERER ALL THE WAY! =D
and as for the Women's side of things, having been a Roland Garros finalist, Safina shouldn't have much of a problem defeating Cibulkova and securing her second appearance in the finals. and similarly, having triumphed over Serena (though it's pity she didn't wrap the match up in straight sets -.-"), i'm expecting Kuznetsova to have an easy match against Stosur, who thus far, hasn't faced really strong opponents throughout the tournament (unfortunately including Dementieva!). and if my predictions come true, i think Kuzzy has a strong chance of picking up her second Grand Slam. but both are equally matched on clay, seeing how Kuzzy defeated Safina in the finals at Stuttgart in early May, and just a week after, Safina beat Kuzzy in the Italy Open finals. still, of course, GO KUZZY! =D
so well, French Open 2009 has delivered quite a number of shockers, with top seeds sent packing early, and now, i just can't wait for the finals! (:
and with the conclusion of the clay season soon enough, all eyes will be on the prestigious Wimbledon! (: (: (:
p.s. this is my 701th post! okay, interesting fact much. xD

roland garros
day nine
alas, Federer survives to play another day at Roland Garros, coming back from 2 sets down to defeat Tommy Haas and move on to the quarterfinals. (: where he'll hopefully meet Roddick, who will be up against Monfils in just a few hours. by the way, i must say that Haas really played well, especially with a crowd that was clearly supporting Federer. so well, good play to them both! (:
in the women's side of things, with their Fourth Round wins today, Serena Williams and Kuznetsova will face off in their quarterfinals match. and i'm really hoping for Kuzzy to grab it from that 25-inch woman. =P though i must admit that from the way things are going, it'll most probably be a Safina-Serena thriller final. but then again, who can be absolutely sure right? especially judging from the top seeds (and defending champions) who have crashed out, including Verdasco.
still, go Jankovic for her Fourth Round match later! (:
