family

hahahah. okay. photos from the east coast picnic with maternal relatives on sunday! (:

awww... cousin-uncle xP

anyway, caught Dreamgirls yest. and wellwell, no doubt Jennifer Hudson really deserves all of her Best Supporting Actress nods. oh. and i've established the four faces of Beyonce Knowles (the actress xP) - Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie, and of course, herself. hahahah. freakyyy how she can look like them, and vice versa.

alright, out!

oinks!
(in the spirit of the unhalal year - of the Pig! xP)

hahahah. just felt like updating to wish everyone here a
Happy Chinese New Year!
have a great year ahead, and well, enjoy the much-awaited holiday break! (:

anyway, school this week was rather uneventful. hence, not much content to last an entry. (or so i think) uneventful, but busy. stayed back till as late as 10.30pm on monday, tuesday and wednesday to finish making the invites. then just lastlast night, did the souvenirs at zongyi's house in kembangan till around 8+pm. yay. but it was throughly enjoyable, with the company of the rest of the prefects, and i got to know them much better. especially on friday, when i was the only sec 4 amongst the sec 3s who stayed till the end to help with souvenirs. it's um, especially enlightening and refreshing when you take a step back and take the time to listen to what's happening in your juniors' lives. along with the scandals, of course.

oh wait. did i say that the week was uneventful? okay, i take my words back.

actually, wednesday was a highly eventful day. with House Ra-Ra for psgm, where i could see the liveliness and enthusiasm of the Secondary 1 Buckleyans, and the fresh passion they have for the house. which is veryvery commendable. (:

and of course, we come to the later part of the day. which can be summed up by one word - disappointment. (and utter bitterness.) =/ blah. and the fact that it's the second time i slipped up made me feel even worse if anything. anyway, i've already cleared things up, and i've put it behind me. so let's just hope that i'll be more responsible in the future.

oh. and thank you to Miss Cho for the m&ms for valentine's (: and Mrs Albar for the nips and twix for um, CNY? i guess so. hahahah.

whokay. that's all for this entry.

once again, happy chinese new year ppl, and happy visiting later! (:

monday blues

hahahah. okay. what a title. xP

anyway, today was a great start to the week. if only that were true. one moment was enough to ruin the day and bring everyone's mood down.

maths class test was a horror. period.

still, it wasn't all that bad, what with:

1. chemistry lab again, where we collected the fruits of our labour - our CuSO4 salt crystals! (:

mine and isaac's hard work xP

drying the salt crystals, with Bryan's help as well
(thus his name added on the filter paper)

our 2.98g of CuSO4 salt

our blue CuSO4 salt crystals, packed into a plastic pocket (:

2. the ever-so enlightening english lesson with the Queen. =D well, how much closer can you get to Nirvana than standing on your table. uhhuh.

3. visit to Bishan Home, for our Venture CIP. (: got to learn much about interacting with the intellectually disabled, and managed to interact with the residents as well. was yet another meaningful visit to a home, especially the sense of accomplishment you feel once they successfully learnt the campfire song actions. xP

anyway, invites making wasn't all too bad, despite the few moments of tension in the seminar room. managed to complete much of the work, though there's still some stuff left to be done. anyhow, can i just remind everyone to relax! (: the world would be a better place, trust me.

OH. and... the GRAMMYS! =D and thanks bro for smsing me some of the winners during my chemlab lesson. appreciated much.

on a separate note, i survived from morning till dinner (at 11.30pm) on a cup of milo, a curry puff, a stick of squid, and a stick of nuggets. poor me, right? just goes to show that life's getting more hectic already.

hahahah. alright. gotta continue with my hw. -.-" and thankgod i've got nutrisoy and tolberones for sustinence through the night. xP

poles!

yeah. had pole-packing just now, from morning till noon. a rather boring affair, which was lightened up by the usual nonsense and lame stuff from the batchmates. hahahah.

on the lorry...

the king and his minions (riiight)

back to school from braddell-westlake

yuezheng waving randomly xP

qianwei, leaonard and teeyong

weijie and yuezheng

chianfern and sarun

leonard manly-ly giving the uncle directions
(he was very close to the side of the lorry)

then homeward bound, passing by banquet compasspoint to get my breakfast. or brunch, more like it.

and now, finally, i can start on my work. my attempt yesterday failed, just so you know. was too tired to do anything and just k.o. -ed at around 2am. xP and now i'm back to square one. how great!

okayokay. better get started. out!

well-articulated portals

what a day! just got back at around 5 minutes past midnight. and i was up and running since 6 in the morning. wheee. yay. nonetheless, it was a day rather well spent. so it's alright. (:

from morning till around noon, it was the RIPB inter-departmental soccer! xP

the majestic institution against the beautiful sky...

CD & WD in action

CD & WD in action again

CD & WD in action yet again

presenting... the new H2O (starfruit) advertisement
(featuring who esle but Bryan xP)

CD vs WD 2nd round
(with TheoTan interacting with the crowd of spectators)

Bryan feeling all happy

all tired...

final plays

hahahah. though the turnout wasn't as good as we had expected, we still had fun, and i guess that's all that matters. afterall, it's purpose was for us to have relax and unwind, and to bond as departments. speaking of which, DB only had their dear dept head present. o.O

and just to satisfy your curiosity, yes, i did play for my department alright. the ever-fabulous Human Resource a.k.a. Hot Revolution. and we won overall! (: aha. thanks to gareth (the highly skilled being), ryanstar (great attack!), kristianolee (ditto), max, biquan, bryan and me. anyway, the best match would definitely be the HR vs WD match. well, we managed to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat to CD, to win 3-1 over WD. what more is there to say? simply put, everyone was playing their best, and it clearly showed with our increased attacking. yay. go, HR!

after that, we had lunch at macs, followed by invites-making all the way till 4+pm when i left for bishan park to cheer on our NSPC teams. (:

next, National Scoutcraft & Pioneering Competition at bishan park...

the venture tower team hard at work, adding finishing touches

the completed tower with its well articulated portals,
as one the judges commented.
(don't ask. we don't really get it either.)

from another angle

02's neatly done scouts tower

the venue - bishan park

victoria arrow scouts' 3-2-1 flagstaff team

the skyline (:

yeah. so we managed to clinch a silver banding for our Venture Tower along with serangoonsec ventures. which is commendable given that out of the five teams, cathigh ventures were the only ones who were awarded the gold banding. essentially meaning that we were in the top three teams out of five. (: well done and congrats to the venture tower nspc team - yuezeheng, sarun, jj, norris, yanzhi, qianwei, weijie and haliim! as for the logging duo - guangyu and yuji, good job all the same. (:

for the scouts section, our blindfold tentage team managed a second placing behind the cathigh team, which supposedly had trained with the exact tent model that was used. yet, they were just 8 seconds faster. (: so, well done to you guys as well. and for the other teams, good job and good effort too.

overall, i guess it was a commendable performance by the 01 teams since this was our first nspc participation in such a scale, in recent years. most importantly, we gained experience, which will definitely be valuable for the next batch of teams.

anyway, like what mr yuen said, there's much to be learned from the other scout troops. like the impressive holy innocents' sour grapes team with their 10sec squarelashing and their flying stunts. and the victoria arrow scouts 3-2-1 flagstaff team with their speed, and quality tying (in picture above). and of course, the cathigh teams with their highly impressive towers/bridges/pioneering skills, which eventually clinched them the overall champion shield.

on the flipside, there were quite some accidents yesterday, of poles falling and injuring a few. including 02's jianhong (my sec 1/2 classmate). poor him. get well soon, yeah. (:

after the prize presentation and all that, went for dinner at:

kfc

with guangyu. he's some bomb larh. walking with him all the way from bishanpark to j8 seriously had negative effects on my intelliegence, i think. can i just say that he's sucha retarded weirdo. hahahah. okayokay. evil me. but just how weird, you may ask? enough to make a kfc staff (who's around our age) ask me, "why your friend like that one? ri leh." o.O
well, the rather bad customer service aside, that just proves my point. xP

after that, popped by macs to meet the rest of the ventures who were just walking way too slow and lagging behind us. and moments later, i found myself in a somewhat shocking and enlightening conversation. ah. the very essence of politics just doesn't seem to be extinct anywhere. =P

anyway, the macs tv was quite amusing too. coz it keep hanging at this point of the boot-up:

and will then go in a loop of re-booting, hanging, re-booting, hanging... and so on. hahahah.

anyway, after chatting long enough and giving our opinions and honest views, i figured that it was late enough and made my way home in a rather empty 88.

emptiness

emptiness
(from a seat further back, to emphasize my point)

alright, it's late alreaydy. out!

anyhow, still gotta do some homework first, since i've got to be back at bishanpark at 8am later, to help with the packing the poles. just when i thought i could spend the whole day completing my work and revising for maths. blah.
