wimbledon gentlemen's singles finals
and so
Nadal has finally (and unfortunately) managed to dethrone
Federer to become the new Wimbledon Gentlemen's Singles champion.
and well, certainly, i am quite sad and disappointed that
Federer lost, but really, they both played well, and
Nadal is a deserving winner. at least
Federer did put up a strong fight, coming back from 2 sets down.
so congratulations to the King of Clay and newly-crowned Prince of Grass.
Federer's still the King of Grass in my opinion; you can't discount his five Wimbledon titles. haha
still,
Federer's got my unwavering support any day. and
Safin too. (:

just wanted to say...
what a comeback by
Federer! yay. (:
he was down 4-6, 4-6 and went to level 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (10-8). and really, tie-breakers are the bomb. they keep you on the edge of your seat man.
well, it's undoubtedly an exciting Gentlemen's Singles finals. xD

wimbledon ladies' singles finals
Venus flies to fifth titleit wasn't quite the finals i had hoped for. but i must admit that from the tight finals match and awesome play by the two
Williams sisters, they did deserve each other in the finals. well, congratulations to
Venus Williams, arguably the queen of grass. (:
and she has a chance to do a
Davenport in Wimbledon 1999, where she took home both the singles and doubles titles. we'll just have to see soon enough.
anyway, tmr will see a showdown between the Men's No. 1 and No. 2 seeds for the Gentlemen's Singles title. will
Federer triumph at the lawns of
Wimbledon as the undisputed king of grass for the sixth consecutive time, or will
Nadal cause an upset? we'll find out tmr. yep.
and...

wimbledon quarters
and so the lawns of
Wimbledon is set for the quarterfinals:
Gentlemen's SinglesRoger Federer (1) vs Mario Ancic
Marat Safin vs Feliciano Lopez (31)
Rainer Schuettler vs Arnaud Clement
Andy Murray (12) vs Rafael Nadal (2)
Ladies' SinglesJie Zheng vs Nicole Vaidisova (18)
Agnieszka Radwanska (14) vs Serena Williams (6)
Elena Dementieva (5) vs Nadia Petrova (21)
Venus Williams (7) vs Tamarine Tanasugarn
and yeah,
Jelena Jankovic was knocked out as well by
Tamarine Tanasugarn, and
Svetlana Kuznetsova by
Agnieszka Radwanska. so effectively, the top four ladies have already been eliminated before the quarters. which is quite a huge upset to say the least. but it's really heartening to see two Asians in the final eight of such a major tennis championship (arguably the most pretigious), so well done
Jie Zheng and
Tanasugarn.
anyway, so now, it's
Dementieva for the win! (: well, she's really pretty and good on the court as well. actually, i'm fine with anything as long as none of the Williams takes home the title. xD
and for the Men's, i'm all for
Safin and
Federer.
alright, time to watch the Women's quarters.
