lemonish goodness

first of all, i must say that today's episode of Ghost Whisperer was oh-so touching. having to find out that the guy hit by the car in last week's episode, turned out to be Melinda's ex-boyfriend seeking to make amends, was just so tragic. add in Gretchen Wieners playing a hurt and cheated ex-wife. xP hahahah. but truly, one of the more touching episodes along with last week's.

that aside, AHHHH!!!! i left my phone charger in the seminar room during the training session today, and forgot to bring it back home. boohoo. now i've got to make a trip down to school early tmr morning, and of course, hope that it's still there. lest i want to be uncontactable and cut off from the world till tuesday, which isn't quite an option. sadly. BLAH. what a dodo head i am. -.-"

okay, and with that aside as well, today has been good!

training was very enriching, especially with our success during sales. after which, of course, Firdhaosh didn't fail to bring us back down to earth, when we were all high and happy people. indeed, there has been much to gain for us as a fabulous Human Resource Department from our combined experiences during the training camp, and i must say, i was quite impressed with our performance as a whole. agreements were reached, and everyone contributed actively, which should be the way if we want to work well as a department. (:

and just so you know, i'm evaluated as having an S(teadiness) followed by C(onscientious) personality. yeah, i know. so kind and considerate and everything nice. right? totally. xP

so anyway, thanks and much appreciation to Ms Michelle Ow and Ms Siti and team from Leadership Development Centre, for putting together a rather interesting and enriching training course. and of course, HR's facilitator, Firdhaosh, for all the valuable advice and words of wisdom. it was sure enjoyable talking to you, and getting to know how things were back then.

alrighty. that's all for today.

of trainings, HM and more
(and nope, it doesn't refer to Headmaster)

hey there. so um, yesterday went really fine. the day turned out way better than i had expected it. which was good luh, obviously. well, all the worry about uncompleted draft report in the wee hours of the morning was so unfounded. xP hahahah. much panic for nothing. and, it was pretty much a light timetable - Physics, HMT, SS and RE. (: so, there.
and speaking of Physics, Mr Matthew Sng (who allowed us to snack during the lesson xP) will be having his last lesson as our relief teacher next Tuesday, and another relief teacher will take over till Ms Kek is done with her maternity leave. so yep.

anyway, so much for the 2 days' break. if the teachers are having their Staff Training, we, prefects, are also having our 8to5 trainings these 2 day as well. -.-" yeah. such perfect timing, with 2 major assignments due next week - English Biography Unit and Physics Performance Task. but anyhow, today's session went pretty alright luh. the activities were fun and interesting. (: and the fabulous HR Department has a very friendly facilitator named Firdaus Firdhaosh, who was an Old Boy from the batch of 1998. yeah.

after that, went for Dramafeste crew discussion, and off to dinner at Swensen's! which was yummy, obviously. and after we were done with our main course, we shared a regular earthquake! (: YUM. hahahah.

okay, i guess i'd better get some work done before this supposed 5-day break flies away just like that.

fatherhood

well, today's assembly programme was rather engaging and enriching, i must say. and discussed, or addressed rather, issues that are very relevant to us. which was very good as it managed to keep us attentive. though of course, there was much chatter and under-breath mutterings when some things that are just so hard not to be communicated, come to mind. hahahah.

anyway, the timetable today wasn't that heavy, so school went just fine, in my opinion. (: but i guess it won't stay that way for long. afterall, it is term 3, the term. you can call it the peak period of school life, i suppose. with so many major assignments set to see completion, and the many events on top of that, i clearly don't dispute that. like how Shawn Lee Tat Chern aptly terms it, Survivor: RI has begun. ah!

on a sidenote, my condolences to relatives of Thaddeus, the RJC triathlete who passed away so suddenly. and my best wishes to Shawn Shaun for a speedy recovery.

here we are again

curiosity killed the cat. or so they say.
but i certainly hope i won't end up like the poor cat. but i don't know. sometimes, curiosity really gets the better of you. gah.

in other news, school today was a-okay! not as bad as i had imagined. anyway, it was sure refreshing to meet again with classmates and friends. and hear faris' nonsense during malay class, alaric's witty remarks on everything possible, isaac's updates on the latest in the music industry, tablemate chenghan's attempt at suaning me, among others.
ah, that's what i go to school for! (:

lovely day, it has been.
but somehow, i still feel rather empty inside. and it sucks that i don't know why. blah.

back to school

AH! tomorrow marks the start of the (blah) mindless mundance routine of 5.30am wake-ups. and of course, school life.

and like many others, i don't look forward to any of that, save for my fantabulous friends.

and i've still got a karangan to complete. how lovely. riiight.

and uh, by right, everyone should be sleeping now. remember, teenagers are encourage to have at least 8 or 9 hours (right?) of sleep daily. if only that's a valid excuse for not completing schwork. ):

okay, i think you get the idea that i don't really enjoy school. so let's all just work towards that 5-day weekend after wednesday, shall we? (though there's training workshops on thursday and friday, and sajak [SEE AD ABOVE!] on saturday. still, beats school, anyhow.) and after that, um, figure out for yourselves luh.

ah, i feel much relieved. but pls don't start on the deadlines set at week 2, thankyouverymuch. =D

oh. and i finally updated my age on the sidebar and friendster. hahaha. yes, i'm sixteen. (:

life is...

hey. and so my mum and aunts have arrived back safely in Singapore, from the Holy Land of Makkah. (:

and the last two days were spent primarily on sajak and dinner out with the family. (:

and now, it's high time that i finish up what's left of my holiday hw.
or rather, what's due immediately tmr. xP

and so, i shall not waste anymore time on this useless post.

alright, out!

you are your best critic

R&R has been meaningful and enlightening.
(today's was quite a killer though with an almost 7-hour session.)

schoolwork seems um, untouched. xP
(what's new...)

i think i'm too daring for my own good.
(am i?)
and yes, i'm finally legal! 16. sixteen.
(woohoo.) and thanks for the wishes, people.

every tick of the clock
takes away something

and so the family's officially housewife-less till next friday. so it'll be take-outs from now on, i guess. unless of course, a miracle happens, or we lose our tastebuds to actually taste the substandard fare, whipped up by someone in the family. which may even prove to be poisonous. hahahah. xP alright, obviously i'm exaggerating. ohwell. we'll just see how it goes. (:

and of course, photos of the day!

ALIAS: Concluded

booo. just caught the Series Finale of ALIAS, and indeed, it provided a great closure to the series. and i just couldn't help but to reflect on the whole experience as an avid fan of the show, all the way from 2002, when i saw this at the end of the episode: THANK YOU FOR FIVE INCREDIBLE YEARS. ah, the nostalgia. (emo alert!) whoa, can't believe 5 ALIAS years have passed. ahhh... (okay, shan't go on anymore)

alas, all good things come to an end.
and like the producer/cast's note at the end of the Series Finale,

of meetings and life

hmmm. haven't been up to much lately.

on Sunday, my paternal relatives came to wish my mum well and all, for her umrah. and of course to present her with gifts like prayer mats, and telekongs.

yesterday, had meetings with two leadership training companies, Leadership Development Centre and Halogen Foundation, to know more about their training programmes, as well as for them to do a needs analysis of sorts, for our RIPB Training & Development. and i must say that they're pretty impressive. one's down-to-earth in their approach - they came in casual wear mind you, the other's very corporate and professional. indeed, they're very different, and yet, equally impressive. we'll just have to wait for the proposals, i guess. oh, and i was simply wow-ed by Halogen Foundation's Executive Director (i.e. Boss) Mr Martin Tan. his eloquence, knowledge, and charisma is just so um, inspiring. and to quote him (though this is rather cliche, i must admit):
Leadership is not about a position of power; it is about a position of influence
indeed. (: inspiring, eloquent people are just so captivating and wow-able.

after that, headed to Ikea Tampines with Law Jia Hao as we had to browse around for furniture for the Prefects' Room. had lunch first, at their food place, where Law, being the glutton, ordered three side dishes (though still religiously abstaining from chicken skin), while i had a simple cheap chocolate muffin. actually, it was more of the fact that i was meeting mum and sis later for lunch (and that there wasn't much halal food there), but yeah, whatever. waited for Bryan, and off i went to Geylang Serai.

HR Department Heads

yum, i guess

ditto the above

today, popped by Buckley Drama Feste rehearsal in the English Studio. they managed to rehearse two scenes, with of course, random moments of pure fun and enjoyment in between. xP after that, had a short meeting regarding Physics Performance Task, lunched with Isaac at KFC, and bused home with him on 156, while browsing through the recently-shrunk 8Days. didn't realise that till today. anyway, it looks rather interesting in its new size.

isaac and me
(ah, the open mouth)

much better (:

i think i should drink more plain water to soothe my potentially sore throat. and it doesn't help that my cold hasn't gone away. blocked noses suck, really. x_X

oh, and mum's leaving tomorrow. have a safe journey! (like she'll read this anyway... -.-")

smile (:

when you're bored at your aunt's:

hahahah xP

and that sweet innocence...

awww. (:

anyway, it was a lovely day. had doa selamat (whatever it's called in english) for my mum and aunts who will be going off for umrah on the 13th, just now at my aunt's house in CCK. which in essence, was also a family gathering of the maternal relatives.

um, nothing much to update on, really. well, i guess i shall just post a couple of cousins/nephews/nieces photos of sorts taken early this year, during the family dinner at Carousel, Royal Plaza on Scotts. had wanted to post them sometime earlier, but i guess it slipped my mind. (:

nephew Mizrafil

awww ...

it's not easy to get a good shot xP

yes, him again

picture perfect (:

very fine

hello. yet another post past the day. ohwell. let's recap from the day before yesterday.

thursday!

the last session of the 2-Star Kayaking Personal Skill Award. finally. xP not to say that it was a very boring or meaningless course. rather, we were all very sian of having to wake up early and head all the way to Kallang Basin. plus our arms were really happy (i.e. in pain) after two days of paddling. though by right, we're not supposed to be using arm power. as we had learnt (yes, we were good and attentive students alright) during the course. nonetheless, all of us managed to execute the skills to comments like "very nice!" and "good!" by Instructor Hong Sheng, who took us for the last session/assessment. which was what he said almost every time he asked us to execute the stoke he just taught. -.-" anyway, of course, we walked away with our 2-Star certs!

my 2-star cert

RIPB Chalet! after that, headed to SAFRA Changi with assistance and directions from Shawn. watched a game of mahjong, attempting to understand as much as i could (which turned out to be um, very little). then played Risk, failing at my attempt to conquer Asia, which i learnt not to do in one turn unless you are damn pro, and was close to being eliminated. hahahah. xP
decided not to stay for the night, as i knew i wouldn't be able to sleep, and i really needed that very badly.

let's be spastic! xP

friday!

had dental appointment in the afternoon, for follow-up of my root canal treatment. then settled for a 100% porcelain crown to be fitted in place of a totally dead lower tooth. which means that next friday, i'd be fitted with a 600bucks tooth. hahahah. xP expensive much.

later in the evening, went back to the RIPB Chalet, upon much persuasion by Shawn and Bryan. and when i arrived, i immediately settled into a Risk game, as an observer. hahahah. it was just so interesting to observe the various alliances and strategies that some players use to get their way. (i wonder who!) hahahah. around 9pm, we paused for the birthday celebration (i.e. cake-cutting) of sorts at the pool cafe for the May/June babies, including myself, of course. (: where Ryan and me had the privilege of being smeared with the cake in our faces. fun much. xP anyhow, after that, the game of Risk continued for a while more, before Shawn and me had to go off to catch the last shuttle service out of the uber ulu SAFRA Changi.

bryan just couldn't get his mind off the game
